
Its safe to say that Eminem and Jay Z are the biggest names in hip hop. Not many rappers have achieved the type of commerical success these two have. By combining forces for four live concerts (2 in Detroit and 2 in New York City), the two managed to drown out the negativity surrounding the rap genre.
The concert featured a string of hits by both heavy weights and an inside game of “can you top this?” Monday night, Eminem brought out the reclusive Dr. Dre and label mate 50 Cent to a huge crowd roar. Jay Z countered with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Drake and Chris Martin, who sang the hook on “Heart of the City.â€
Those who actually got to experience these shows (in either city or at any night) have one message that has resonated throughout the internet and throughout the world: It was an event for Hip Hop. History was made. 200,000 people can’t be wrong.
