FADER/MoMA PS1 Warm Up Mix: Ital (free download)

Every Saturday during the summer, MoMA PS1 presents the Warm Up, a event series taking place in their enormous courtyard. The museum—MoMA’s longstanding sister site in Long Island City, Queens—is a lightning rod for new and exciting artists, and each week’s performers inhabit a similar space in the music world.

To ensure a great, current and diverse schedule, the lineup—with oversight from MoMA PS1 director Klaus Biesenbach and organized by MoMA PS1 curatorial assistant Eliza Ryan—is selected by a team of heavy hitters: Dean Bein, head of True Panther Sounds; Kris Chen, head of A & R at XL Recordings; Robin Carolan, head of Tri Angle Records; Jonathan Galkin, co-founder of DFA Records; Brandon Stosuy, editor at Pitchfork and contributing editor for The Believer; and Matt Werth, label head of RVNG Intl.

Every Thursday throughout the summer, as a warm up to Warm Up, FADER magazine and MoMA PS1 will be posting an exclusive mix from one of the artists performing. This week, it’s Ital, aka Daniel Martin-McCormick, also of Mi Ami. His “Ital’s Theme” and “Culture Clubs” 12-inches have quickly won him attention for their grungy and hard homemade electronics. Download the mix below and see Ital live, along with Prince Language, Vockah Red and a Das Racist DJ set this Saturday at PS1.
