Luxury Hotels Introduce Gourmet Food Trucks

High-end hotels are realizing the potential of food trucks, a craze that’s been sweeping the U.S. over the past few years. Hotels like the Ritz-Carlton, Auberge Saint-Antoine, Setai Hotel, and the SLS Hotel, are now serving gourmet fast food out of a low-key truck. Hoteliers hope to attract a crowd of customers who wish to try up-scale hotel restaurant food in a casual and convenient setting.

The SLS Hotel in South Beach, Miami, will have a stationary food truck by the pool that will be run by celebrity chef Jose Andres. The Setai Hotel in Miami’s South Beach opened a Beach Kiosk that serves Wagyu hot dogs, and salmon burgers designed by Michelin-starred chef David Werly. While the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C., will have temporary pop-up BBQ restaurant from 27 April to 29 June with a menu designed by celebrity chef Eric Ripert.
