We’ve previously featured what appears to be an up and coming medium. Not quite a photo, not quite a movie but a hybrid of both. This new type of photo or animation is called the the Cinemagraph. Earlier today, FastCoDesign posted a series of these cinemagraphs as an ode to Manhattan born Director Stanley Kubrick, capturing his most epic scenes.
Kubrick has definitely left his imprint in the film world. For a walk down memory lane of his disturbing cult films such as Dr. Strangelove, The Shining and A Clockwork Orange enjoy these cinemagraphs created by Gustaf Mantel.
“Mr. President, I’m not saying we wouldn’t get our hair mussed. But I do say no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops.”
“Look Dave, I can see you’re really upset about this.”
“It’s funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen.”
“Here’s Johnny!”
“What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? Didn’t Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?”
