The Jaguar R Performance Driving Academy

The Jaguar R Performance Driving Academy is a program for enthusiasts within the Jaguar community. Owners of the XFR or XKR are eligible to participate in one of several events over the course of the year at no cost (driving one of Jaguar’s fleet of R cars, lest you be concerned about crashing your own). Those that enjoy the basic course have the option of taking the Advanced Course at a cost, which includes telemetry analysis with one of the professional drivers.

The professional driving coaches range from ex-F1 drivers like Roberto Guerrero to young talent like Adam Andretti. Both explained how to perform the various exercises and showcased what makes the R-Type Jaguars special. You get to drive with varying levels of traction control engaged, and most importantly, you get to join the professional drivers while they drove hot laps, truly revealing the performance of the vehicles.

The Jaguar R Performance Academy is a perfect example of ‘Post-Purchase Optimization.’ On public roads, you would be hard-pressed (and ill-advised) to exploit the full performance of these cars. To do so, one really needs to be driving in a controlled environment. By including the Performance Academy experience in the cost of ownership, Jaguar has engaged its core group of enthusiasts, given them an experience to share with others and provided them with an opportunity to take full advantage of the driving and ownership experience.
